ARGUS CUP: U15 FINAL

LINCOLN FC ARGUS 1 – 3 LINCOLN FC WESTMED

The Under 15’s Argus Cup Final was an all Lincoln tie with the younger Argus side up against the older Westmed side in what turned out to be an excellent game of football. With the Argus side defending superbly yet still creating the odd chance it looked like the both sides would go in equal 0 – 0 at half time. However a controversial decision by the referee in awarding play to go on despite the linesman flagging for offside gave the Westmed side the half time lead.

A quick goal after half time and a very unlucky own goal gave Westmed a 3 – 0 lead midway through the second half. The Argus side now playing the better football continued to create quality chances but were unable to break down the Westmed defence until five minutes before full time, the score then remaining 3 -1 till the final whistle. The Argus side can take many positives from the game and can be proud of their efforts. Likewise the Westmed side finish the season unbeaten in League and Cup competitions securing the double.
